OUR PROCESSES
Designed to ensure energy efficiency, code compliance, and a smooth path to your final approval. From initial modeling to final inspections and incentives, we guide your project every step of the way.

Efficiency built into EVERY STEP.
1. Projected HERS Report:
I will create an energy model, based on the plans and other relevant information, and will issue a Projected HERS report. The energy model takes into consideration the HVAC system, Water Heater, Window energy factor, sizes, orientation, and distance to the roof, wall assembly, and many other factors. If your town is a Stretch code community or Specialized Energy code, the score we need to achieve is shown in the table below. The Lower the score, the more efficient the house is.
2. Mid-term inspection:
I will inspect the house after the insulation is installed to verify the quality of the installation. This inspection needs to be done before the walls are covered.
3. Final Inspection:
The last visit is to perform a blower door test and, if needed, an HVAC duct air leakage test. This data will be input into the final energy model. After that, I will provide the Confirmed HERS Report that you will need for your Certificate of Occupancy.
4. Mass Save Incentives:
If your town is a MASS SAVE community, this means the project could get some incentives for the energy features it will have. I could do the paperwork and the calculations for you to get that money. After the final inspection, I will send all the necessary information to Mass Save to initiate the incentive process.
